How it works

Choose your plot and customise your home layout
Each plot has a designated exterior house type. Once you have chosen your plot, it is time to customise your interior layouts. Do you prefer open-plan or cozy retreats? En-suite bathrooms or areas to work from home? The choice is yours.

Your home is built for you
The housebuilder will build your house to ‘Blank Canvas’. This is a new home without the kitchen, bathrooms or flooring installed. Save the cost of renovation or facelifting, and get the home you want from the start.

A Platform for Possibilities
Blank Canvas isn’t just about the physical product. Our app empowers you to design, track, and manage your build seamlessly.
With access to the Blank Canvas App, you will open a world of possibilities. Here is where you decide which kitchen, bathrooms and flooring is right for you and your home.
4.
Installation and Completion
Once you have designed your interior spaces, it is time to arrange the installation. Once your kitchen and bathrooms are installed, you can apply for a completion certificate through the Blank Canvas App.
Interior Features
Your home will come as a plastered and painted shell. All water and electrical works will be installed and ready to go. Services such as the mains electrics for the cooker, water feeds and water waste will be boxed and prepared for connection.

Electrical Systems
• Installation of all cabling to external power points, lighting, and external renewable systems
• Installation of all internal cabling to standard white sockets and light switches.
• All systems to be commissioned and tested prior to Blank Canvas handover.
• All connections to internal M&E systems to be completed.
• CBH to supply electrical layout drawings for positioning of all sockets, switches, and TV points
• Kitchen appliance sockets and fused spurs to be installed in indicated position on electrical drawings.
• Electrical car charging point to be fully installed, tested and commissioned. (Where appropriate)
Lighting
• All positions of lighting to be defined on CBH electrical drawings.
• LED downlights throughout
Life Safety Systems
• All fire alarms to be installed, tested, and commissioned.
• Where required, sprinkler systems to be installed, tested, and commissioned.
Foul Water
• All connections to be made from external connection points to internal positions as defined on the CBH public health drawings.
• All foul drainage is to be air pressure tested, commissioned, and certified prior to handover.
• All connection points to appliances, toilets, showers and sinks, will be capped at the wall within the room.
Ventilation systems
• All flues to be installed, tested, and commissioned.
• Mechanical Ventilation Heat Recovery (MVHR) or Mechanical Extract Ventilation (MEV) systems to be installed, tested, and commissioned. (where applicable)
Heating Systems
• Water and heating system (Combi-boiler, condensing boiler, heat pump etc) fully tested and commissioned.
• All connection from incoming supplies, e.g. potable water or gas, to be complete.
• All connections to external renewable generation sources or external supplies to be complete (e.g. solar water heating or heat pumps where applicable)
• Underfloor Heating to ground floor.
• Radiators to upper floors (Dependent on design).
• Electric towel radiators to all bathrooms and en-suites.
Telecommunications
• Each home is to be connected with Fibre cabling to the premises.
• CBH to produce CAT 6 wiring drawings which will be supplied.
• The TV position within the living room should be provided with CAT 6 connection point.
Doors
• All internal fire doors to be installed throughout. (Where applicable)
• Black ironmongery to be used on all handles and hinges unless otherwise specified.
Stairs
• All stairs to be installed with the specified balustrade for that house type.
• The stairwell to be protected prior to handover as Blank Canvas.
• Final finish of stair treads should not be included.
